Why am I giving you instructions for writing proposals on your own?

There are several reasons why I’m sharing my knowledge about how to write better proposals with you. For one thing, I’m passionate about community-based organizations. I believe you make the world a better place.

And as a former nonprofit program manager, I know the frustrations of watching well-received and successful programs dissapear for lack of funding. I know how much hard work goes into service delivery and how much it hurts to have to say no to people who are in need.

And I love seeing the light in people’s eyes when they receive the acknowledgement—otherwise known as the funding—they need and deserve. I want you to be able to take pride in your work toward realizing your community’s needs and dreams. I want your community to know without a doubt that its needs matter.

Lastly, I believe that grant writing can be a creative endeavor—that you can have fun while telling your story clearly and compellingly—that you can make a strong case in behalf of clients, members, or program staff and not suffer from jargon overload.

Part of the fun, of course, comes from being successful at what you do. So I want to give you something concrete that will help you experience the joy in grant writing and that will start you on the road to better proposals with or without the assistance of a professional grant writer.

Here are what some other clients have had to say about their experience working with Grant Central Station:

Carrie is a teacher who is in touch with each of her students and their particular project. She presents the material in a number of ways to touch different learning styles. A great teacher—one I would go out of my way to recommend.

I, for one, deeply appreciate the time and patience you have had with my slow spurts and stumbling starts. I would like to extend a personal and heartfelt thank you from myself and on behalf of the full time Volunteer Cascade Locks Fire and EMS Rescue Department. Without all of your valuable teaching and suggestions, we might not have gotten the grant.

Just fill in this form and my instructions for one of the first critical steps in winning funds, writing letters of inquiry that entice funders to hop on board, will be on their way to you. If you elect to, you also will receive additional monthly tips that break down the grant-writing process into manageable tasks and help you prepare for writing better grants.

Rest assured, I won’t ever share your email with anyone else, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
