Executive Team & Partners

Grant Central Station’s team of talented proposal writers are veterans of both the nonprofit and business worlds. With advanced degrees in educational policy, creative writing, journalism, and business administration, we’re not just writers, we’re business people. We understand how to communicate with funders in a way that speaks to their hearts, their ideals, and their practical side. Our proposals are articulate with a strong eye on strategy.

The core team at Grant Central Station provides a breadth of research, writing, and project and strategic planning experience. Additional experts or partners may contribute specific skills or knowledge that enhance the final deliverable.

Principal

Carrie Rothburd founded Grant Central Station in 2000 and continues to lead the firm’s growth. For more than two decades, she has been researching, planning, and grant writing. Her grant expertise has won funding for nonprofits, tribes, and government entities in numerous sectors, including social and human services, municipal and county governments, school and educational service districts, fire departments, and tribes. Her areas of specialty include: education, transportation, the arts, domestic violence intervention, services for elders and people with disabilities, environmental conservation, youth development, and employment training.  She holds an M.A. in educational policy from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, an M.A. in creative writing from New Mexico State University, and is completing an M.A. in journalism at New York University.

Dr. Beverly A. Browning is the author of more than two dozen grants-related publications, including Grant Writing For Dummies™ and Grant Writing for Educators. For nearly three decades, Beverly has been consulting in the areas of grant writing, contract bid responses, and organizational development. Her clients have included chambers of commerce, units of local and county municipal governments, state and federal government agencies, school districts and colleges, social and human service agencies, hospitals, fire departments, service associations, faith-based organizations, and Fortune 500 corporations. She holds an honorary doctorate in business administration from Bridgewater University, an M.A. in public administration from the University of Michigan, and a B.A. in management of human resources from Spring Arbor College.

Lead Writer

Arianna Dogil has been a professional writer and editor for more than 10 years, consulting on a wide range of proposal, marketing, and advertising projects. She has created ad copy, web copy, direct mail, case studies, and white papers for corporate and small business clients. In recent years, Arianna has worked as a proposal writer for nonprofits and has been highly successful securing funding in the areas of education, tribal development, services for women, and youth development. When clients need primary research or marketing strategy analysis before undertaking a new project, Arianna takes the lead. She holds a B.A. with honors in English from the University of California, Irvine.
